The peak is located in Munnar, Kerala with an altitude of 2,656 m. And, the top of Meesapulimala is around 2640 meters above sea level.

How to reach Meesapulimala in Munnar

To reach Messapulimala, you will first need to take either a Jeep Safari or come by your own vehicle and reach the base camp. The base camp is around 40 Kilometers away from Munnar’s center. Once you have reached one of the base camps, you can choose either of the trails from Rhodo Valley or the Silent Valley.

After choosing the trail, you will need to reach the base of the trail and from there the distance to Meesapulimala needs to be covered on foot. It will take around 3 to 4 hours of time for you to complete the trek and reach the Meesapulimala peak from the base camp of the trail.

To reach Munnar, you can follow the two major ways provided below:

By Train:

First, visit the Ernakulam Junction (130 km away from Munnar), which is the nearest railway station to Meesapulimala. From the station, you can pick up any private cab, taxi, or bus to reach the base camp of Meesapulimala.

By Air:

The nearest airport to Meesapulimala is Cochin International Airport (120 km away from Munnar).

The best time to visit Meesapulimala is during the winter months (November to February).

The trekking time to Meesapulimala depends on the starting point. If you start from the Silent Valley, the trekking length is about 6 kilometers.

However, if you start from the Rhodo Valley, the trekking length is about 8 kilometers. The total trekking time is usually around 5-7 hours.

Here are some nearbuy places to Meesapulimala: Eravikulam National Park, Kolukkumalai Tea Estate, Suryanelli, etc.

It is not an easier peak to trek and thus children and senior citizens should not take part in the trekking activities. Also, it is advised to keep enough food and water bottles with you to be on the safe side.

You should also start early in the morning to complete the trekking activity before it gets dark.

The cost of trekking and staying at Meesapulimala Peak depends on the trail that you have selected and the additional services like a tour guide, food package, etc that you have chosen. There are packages starting from Rupees 4,000/- for two people and can vary as per the availability and demand.
