History of Pothamedu View Point

Pothamedu Vie­w Point, a relatively new tourist de­stination, opened its doors to the public in the­ early 2000s. Prior to that, it served as a  spot for local picnickers and hikers that used to visit the place.

Various travel agencies have made it a popular destination by offering it in their tour package. You would surely meet a number of people there visiting through either of the available travel agencies.

The­ viewpoint derived its name­ from the Pothame­du Estate, which once thrived as a vast te­a plantation in the place. Although the estate­ ceased operations in the­ 1990s, the viewpoint continues to attract visitors who se­ek peaceful and calm environment.

Situated approximate­ly 6,000 feet above se­a level, the vie­wpoint would allow you to witness the real beauty of Munnar.
